Wesley Gutierrez was born in San Jose, California, on May 24 1991. He was raised by his parents in San Martin, California. Wes is 17 years old and is a senior at Ann Sobrato High School. Wes is the first generation racer in his family. His racing career began in Quarter Midgets in 1997 with his parents’ guidance. He had a very successful stint in Quarter Midgets with a total of 63 main event wins and 9 series championships. Wes capped off his six year career in Quarter Midgets with his 2004 Grand Nationals win at Indiana. In 2004, Wes continued his racing endeavors in the highly competitive world of Micro Sprints. There he earned the title of “Rookie of the Year”. He had 13 wins and a track championship in the three years that he competed.
When Wes is home he enjoys skateboarding, playing guitar, and hanging out with his buddies. Whenever time allows, Wes heads to Pismo or Hollister Hills to ride his quads and dirt bikes. 2008 was a very eventful year with Wes competing in his rookie year in the 360 non-wing sprint cars and forming his own company, California Graphix, specializing in vehicle graphics for the racing industry and private sector. Wes finished of his rookie year in the 360 non-wing sprint cars with
2 National wins.
